Study Programmes

If you are 16-18, want to keep learning, but want your education to be focused on a career rather than academic then a study programme makes good sense.

Usually lasting 12 months you will gain a significant vocational qualification, gain insights from employers in your area of interest, boost any skills you will need to have a good start on an apprenticeship, in the work place or going onto college or university.

Regulate by OFSTED and the ESFA funded by government our Study Programmes are delivered to an OFSTED good standard (we have had over 170 years experience).

All study programmes have to meet or exceed the following key points:

Focus on your path

Working together we identify a clear single aim for your time with us. These might include:

  • Discovering which future career you want to grow into
  • Aiming for an apprenticeship
  • Studying at university
  • Setting up a business

It’s different for each individual

The programmes are custom built for everyone ensuring prior education experience and future career aspirations taken into consideration when planning the programme. For example if your have failed GCSE English or Maths we have to build this in, but we recognise the school approach may not have suited you so will bring the learning to life through practical application relating to your career aspirations.

A significant qualification

There is an award to be won it it could be a level 1,2 or 3 depending on what we want to achieve.. If you want to go into employment or an apprenticeship then showing you have the skills to get the job done is highlighted though a qualification. If you want to go to university then we need to build UCAS points and a portfolio.

There is nothing like experience and whether you are aiming for a job, or university and then a job experience will put you in good stead. It could attending industry events, meeting employers or work experience, depending on what your goals are we will plan this into your study programme.

The programmes are always enhanced with a range of activities and tutorials our experience and research shows will benefit you. This might range from day trips to nutrition advice or planning to rent you first flat. In life it takes more than just a qualification to be well. You need to gain life skills and balance opinions on the world, skills not on the curriculum.
