Young learners at YMCA Training Stowmarket experienced an
inspiring day in Cambridge recently thanks to Mid-Suffolk District
Council's Culture and Community Fund.
YMCA Training Stowmarket was lucky enough to secure a bid from
the Fund, and was able to take a group of young learners to
Cambridge to find out what types of jobs are available to them just
a short train ride away.
Learners also had a guided tour around one of the country's
oldest universities followed by a ghost tour of the city, which
involved visiting lots of historical sights and wonderful
buildings, whilst finding out about the ghostly past of
Cambridge.
After the tours, the learners had a trip on a punt along the
River Camb. As it was a lovely hot and sunny day, they decided to
have lunch by the river and discuss all the different kinds of jobs
and history they had discovered on the trip - a fantastic day was
had by all!
