YMCA Training Skills Academy Annual Presentation Day 2011

Always a happy and inspiring event, the YMCA Training Skills Academy held its Annual Presentation Day at the YMCA John Innes Centre in Wimbledon last week.

Two-time World Champion boxer, Tim Witherspoon, awarded certificates in Sports Leadership and Personal Development to a dozen year 10 and 11 students. Tim is a supporter of several youth charities and strongly believes that projects like the Academy are vital:

'Programmes like this are where governments should be putting their money. Step in when they're young. Get these kids back on track, so they get an education and get jobs. I'm really happy to be here tonight and to support YMCA Training with this project.'

Student of the Year went to Derren Blake-Arnold and Best Written Work went to Katie Weisberg and Zhane Hughes.
