YMCA Training Salford training adviser presented with City & Guilds Medal for Excellence Award.

On Thursday 26^th May, Jeff Pearce, Horticulture training adviser from YMCA Training Salford, attended City & Guilds most prestigious Lion Awards ceremony at The Roundhouse venue in Camden.

Jeff was presented his award by TV presenter, George Lamb who was the host for the evening.

City & Guilds' Medals for Excellence is a global programme that recognises the achievements of learners and lecturer/trainers in the UK and internationally who produce exceptional work, or overcome the odds to achieve their goals.

The Lion Awards is the culmination of the Medals for Excellence programme. Each year, all the Medals for Excellence winners from across the UK and Republic of Ireland are invited to London to celebrate their achievements.

Jeff said, "What a wonderful event. I was overwhelmed by all aspects, from the food, the venue, to the actual awards ceremony. I will remember the evening for ever."

Dawn Brannigan, manager and nominator said "It was a fantastic evening, everyone enjoyed themselves. City & Guilds definitely pulled all the stops out. It was an amazing venue and a fabulous opportunity to recognise the achievements of the Medal for Excellence winners. It was a fitting tribute to Jeff, who attended the event with his fiancée Kathryn Maccabe."
