Learners from the foundation learning programme at YMCA
Training Norwich had the exciting opportunity to experience archery
on a recent team day out.
After learning about the equipment and the health and safety
aspects, the learners split into two groups and competed against
each other in a game called "making the pizza."
This was a fun team challenge which involved the learners
hitting the target in the specific order.
Each colour on the target represented a certain ingredient for
the pizza. The white of the target was the flour, the blue was the
water, the red was the tomato sauce and the gold was the cheese. If
the black was hit, the pizza was burnt and they had to start
again.
Both teams competed against each other until the task was
completed and learnt about the value of teamwork, as well as the
skill of archery!
