YMCA Training is holding a number of events today for National Careers Week!

YMCA Training Chester’s Engagement Programme

Back in June, 18 young learners interested in a career in childcare joined YMCA Training Chester on its Engagement Programme.

Whilst on the programme, the learners experienced many exciting activities including, sessions about sign language, Every Child Matters and Equality and Diversity.

The learners also completed a number of team building exercises which included treasure hunts in the local area, cooking activities and working together to build bridges out of spaghetti and jelly babies.

They finished the programme last week by completing booklets about their experience at YMCA Training, and having a party to celebrate every learner securing a work placement in local nurseries.

All of the learners are now working towards completing a Level 1 Certificate in Caring for Children.
