In the New Year, YMCA Training Bristol introduced a
tracking system to show how its learners were progressing towards
reaching targets and achieving their credits.
As the system progressed, the total number of credits achieved
was being calculated and by June, the location was nearing 1000
credit points for the contract year.
It was at this point Ian Ray, admin co-ordinator at YMCA
Training Bristol said he would give a prize to the learner who
achieved that milestone.
Towards the end of June, Satnam Kaur, young learner on the
Foundation Learning programme, achieved her Functional Skills in
English qualification at Entry 3, and was the learner who achieved
the 1000th credit point.
In September, YMCA Training Bristol held a small presentation
event to celebrate the achievement and Satnam was presented with a
certificate for her achievements and box of chocolates as her
prize.
Satnam has now left the Foundation Learning programme, having
achieved 45 credit points in total. Her confidence has improved
during her training period and she is currently looking for a
career in child care.
