Bradley Nolan, 39, had been working with employment
engagement advisers at YMCA Training Margate after being out of
work for over a year. After being let down by an amusements
company who had assured him of a job, Bradley was beginning to feel
less confident about his future employment prospects.
Following persistence from the YMCA Training team, and strong
interview skills for Bradley, his situation has now turned
around.
Emily Whittaker, Bradley's employment engagement adviser at YMCA
Training, explains:
"I am always on the look-out for jobs for my clients and I
keep a bank of their CVs to hand so that when a good one
comes up I can get straight in there! I saw a job at
Crown Bingo in Margate which was perfect for Bradley so
I decided I had to go out of my way to get
this one. I grabbed his CV, wrote a letter and drove my
car to the employer's premises. I found the manager and
handed him Bradley's CV as well as giving him some background
information. The next day he called me and asked to
see Bradley for an interview.
"Bradley went for his interview and was thrilled to be offered
the job and has now started work in a full-time permanent
role. I feel this is testament not only to Bradley, but also
to the hard work we all do as training advisers and employment
engagement advisers. He is absolutely chuffed with his
new job and it makes me feel really good to know I helped him to
achieve it."
