Quality assurance
We have a thorough assessment and vetting process as follows, which will ensure that the Apprentice is right for your business:
- Potential Apprentices are often referred to us by Connexions
- All candidates will have a one hour interview with a Training Adviser when they first join us to assess their skills
- Suitable candidates will be referred to you, the employer, for interview
- On some occasions we offer employers the opportunity to give candidates a 2 week trial, so you can decide whether the young person will suit your business before committing to the training
- If you offer the candidate an Apprenticeship, YMCA Training will give them an induction course prior to starting work with you
- During the induction period further assessments and observations are made to gauge:
- Commitment levels
- Literacy and numeracy proficiency and communication skills
- Strengths and weaknesses
- The induction process prepares the Apprentice for the workplace so they understand exactly what will be required of them
