About NVQs
NVQs are work-based qualifications which demonstrate an individual's ability, skills and competence to undertake their job effectively. They are assessed through a portfolio of work built up by the trainee, in addition to observation and testing in the workplace, during which trainees demonstrate evidence of the required skills. An NVQ is open to people of any age, at any stage of their career.
