About us

training on computerYMCA Training's mission is to inspire individuals to develop their talents and potential and so transform the communities in which they live and work.

We are a purpose driven organisation with a Christian ethos that places the individual at the heart of all that we do, providing a safe and respectful learning environment, and the opportunity to truly belong, contribute and thrive.

We are a national charity operating from over 50 locally relevant centres to deliver effective training programmes and work-based learning opportunities to people of all abilities, ages and backgrounds.

Our range of courses includes:

  • Apprenticeships, advanced apprenticeships and NVQs - equipping people with skills and qualifications while they earn
  • Foundation Learning for 14-16 year olds and 16-19 year olds - giving young people the skills they need for work and life
  • Employment skills and job search training - helping people back into employment through New Deal and Flexible New Deal provision
  • Specialist programmes in response to the local community, such as working with the NEET group or young parents
  • Staff training for employers - courses for businesses tailored to the employer’s needs

We pride ourselves on our personal approach, assessing each individual and tailoring the courses to suit their needs. Our staff are dedicated to providing high levels of support, guidance and commitment to those enrolled on our programmes to ensure that each participant achieves their full potential.

Our flexible approach means that programmes are also well received by employers, who benefit greatly from involvement in our schemes. We work closely with businesses to take into account their requirements and how they work, so that training can fit their needs precisely.
